Ancient authors have been a source of information on major Roman gardens such as those of Nero’s Golden House, while the Elder Pliny and Columella wrote of horticulture and plants. We will focus on the archaeological insights of the last 50 years, exploring the period and breadth of the Roman Empire.
Roger is a Hon. Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, specialising in Roman Archaeology, largely studied at Wroxeter Roman City. He is currently both Hon. Editor and Hon. Chair of the Shropshire Archaeological and Historical Society.
