Western Britain map  with Ludlow, ShropshireRoad: Ludlow is situated on the A49 trunk road which runs from Warrington, through Shrewsbury and Hereford to Ross-on-Wye.
From Birmingham, head west on the A456 through Kidderminster. From the M5 leave at junction 3 and continue on the A456 through Kidderminster.

Parking: The three principal car parks in the centre of Ludlow are at Upper Galdeford/Station Drive, Lower Galdeford, and Castle Street. They operate on a pay-and-display basis. Click here for Ludlow map with car parks featured

Pay and Display Meters
On-street parking in the town centre (Central Red Zone) is now Pay and Display Meters, in the Blue Zone it is free but restircted time (as displayed on the notices). Click here for more details

Park and Ride
An efficient Park and Ride bus service operates from the Eco Park, Sheet Road and costs 70p return. The Park and Ride buses run to the town centre every 15 minuts from Monday to Saturday. The first bus leaves the Eco Park at 7.25 am and the last bus leaves the town centre at 6.25 pm. The Park and Ride car park at the Eco Park is well signposted from the main approaches to Ludlow. From the north do not take the town centre sign, but continue on the A49, then at the second roundabout take the first turning left signposted Caynham, the Eco Park is first left again just off this roundabout. Coming from the south again do not follow signs for the town centre, and at the first roundabout turn right, signposted Caynham, the Eco Park is just off the roundabout. Click here for more details

Bus: The bus service 192/292 serves Ludlow from Kidderminster. The town is also served by local bus services for destinations in Shropshire and Herefordshire. Phone Shropshire Traveline on 0345 056785.

Rail: The railway offers the most comfortable and convenient means of getting to Ludlow. The Marches Line/North & West route provides the following train services:-

(i) An hourly service between Manchester, Crewe, Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthen, with an extension to Milford Haven on alternate hours.

(ii) A two-hourly service between Cardiff and Holyhead serving Wrexham, Chester and the North Wales Coast.

(iii) A reduced service operates on Sundays on both routes.

There are connections at Crewe and Manchester for the North, Shrewsbury for Birmingham and the Midlands and the Cambrian and the new direct service to London from Shrewsbury and connections at Newport (Mon) for London and the South East and Bristol and the South West.

Ludlow's railway station is a short walk from the town centre or catch the town bus service which passes every 15 minutes.

Park and Ride for Food and Drink Festival
An inexpensive and efficient Park and Ride bus service operates during the Food and Drink Festival weekend, when parking in the town centre becomes almost impossible, due to the large number of extra visitors. The Park and Ride car parks are well signposted from the main approaches to Ludlow on the A49 and A4117.
