In his talk for the Friends of Ludlow Museum, James Forster, Head of Paintings at Halls Fine Art Auctioneers, will be looking at how the construction and use of materials can indicate when and where a painting is from and also how important a good eye and stylistic analysis can be in authentication. He will use examples and there will be an opportunity to get up close and handle/look at works. He will also try and make a currently overlooked and undervalued part of the market more interesting by providing tips on how to understand early art. Finally there will be investment tips.
